Social efficiency ranking
The goal of the project is to prepare a rating of "Social efficiency of the largest Russian companies" by studying the social and environmental activities of leading Russian companies, as well as analyzing the effectiveness in terms of its impact on the social environment and ecosystem. Over the past ten years, flagship companies of the Russian economy have paid much attention to the social sphere. Social and environmental responsibility is becoming one of the most important factors of investment attractiveness and companies are diligently building relationships with society, actively participating in charity programs, allocating significant funds to sports, medicine, and supporting cultural and religious projects. Most large Russian corporations belong to the extractive sectors of the economy, metallurgy and chemical industry. The production process here is associated with a significant load on the ecosystem. Understanding this, companies strive to reduce the negative impact on the environment and increase funding for projects aimed at protecting the environment every year.
However, the degree of impact on the ecosystem and the degree of social impact of companies varies. The purpose of the rating is to show companies that bring maximum benefit to society with minimal impact on the environment.
Any industrial enterprise operates in market conditions and is a business unit, has its own owners. In large corporations, these are usually shareholders. The purpose of the company is to extract maximum profit for its shareholders.
However, all businesses are located on specific land. They are not isolated from the territory, subsoil, air and water, but, on the contrary, actively use these resources, ensuring the profitability of production.
On the other hand, enterprises employ people, receive salaries there, and use corporate social security, if available. Businesses pay taxes and other mandatory payments to the regional and Federal budgets, thereby supporting state institutions. Charity, support for culture and sports make a significant contribution to the development of public infrastructure.
The purpose of the study is to find a balance between the load on the environmental environment of enterprises and their positive impact on society.
